In the attached article, E3’s Joe Mendez writes about the challenges facing owners and developers of recent renewable energy projects in Mexico. Joe notes that he has been tracking the energy-related activities of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who has instituted policies that are a stark contrast to those of the deregulation policies of his predecessor.  According to Joe, AMLO’s recent policies constitute a challenge to the future of independent power  and are likely to negatively impact the cash flows of the new generation of solar and wind energy projects built under the auction process of his  predecessor, President Enrique Peña Nieto.
