Paul Plath
President
Paul Plath cofounded E3 Consulting 25 years ago. He is well-known within the energy industry for his pragmatic approach and ability to solve problems, making him a recognized and trusted expert in due diligence for top-tier lenders, equity, and developers. He has managed and performed due diligence reviews to support the financing and acquisition of hundreds of electric power, energy, and industrial projects, including many focused on renewable power generation technologies. Paul has provided project oversight on a significant number of E3’s solar, wind, and a variety of energy storage projects (e.g., battery, pumped hydro, compressed air, etc.). He has also spoken on and written numerous reports and papers on new and emerging technologies for electric power generation, energy conversion and storage. He specializes in assembling technical assessment teams to evaluate new technologies, processes and applications and his in-depth technology assessments have supported the financing of many first-of-a-kind projects. Paul has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado and is a registered professional engineer.

Ginger Elbaum
Managing Director
Ginger Elbaum provides engineering, construction, and project management services related to power generation, water reclamation, and industrial processes. She has led many project teams for pre-financing, refinancing, and sale/acquisition projects, interfacing with debt, equity, tax equity, developers, and rating agencies. With a strong background in project engineering and construction management, Ginger provides services related to construction agreements, schedule and budget reviews, and construction monitoring services for a diverse range of projects, including solar, solar + storage, gas + storage and standalone storage. She has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University in College Station.

Albert Rettenmaier
Managing Director
Albert “Al” Rettenmaier has extensive experience as an energy executive in the renewable energy, gasification, power generation, oil & gas, and chemicals industries. He has managed engineering and construction for capital-intensive projects and has an in-depth understanding of how to develop and successfully implement large capital projects. His expertise in front-end project development is key to getting projects through final investment decision and to financial close. Moreover, Al’s experience in R&D, projects, operations, and startup companies enables him to assist clients on matters of technology, project contracting strategy and execution, due diligence, creditor advisory, and other services pertaining to project financing. Al has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kansas.

Gabe Buehler
Project Manager, Renewables
Gabe Buehler is a Renewables Project Manager with Solar and Storage team. Prior to moving into this role, Gabe was a PV Analyst 2 with E3’s Field Engineering team. His academic background in passive cooling techniques for PV modules and solid-state electrolytes, which is published in the Solid State Ionics Journal, serve him well in this position. His work within the solar industry has focused on utility scale engineering for O&M providers. Mr. Buehler has a B.S. in Physics from Minnesota State University of Moorhead.”
Matthew Dannemann, P.E.
Project Manager, Renewables
Matthew Dannemann provides site due diligence, solar site layout design, and overall civil engineering support for commercial and industry solar projects. His background as a civil engineer, coupled with his experience in commercial development, make him particularly well suited for his role on E3’s solar team. Matthew graduated with a B.S. in Civil Engineering, Cum Laude from the Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama, and received minors in finance and business. He is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Colorado.
Lucian Gavriliuc, P.E.
Executive Director, Energy Storage
Luci Gavriliuc is an electrical engineer with a strong background in the energy storage industry. Luci has been involved in the power industry since 2004. His background includes evaluation of electrical equipment such as medium-voltage and low-voltage transformers and motors, medium-voltage and low-voltage switchgear and motor control centers, medium-voltage, and low-voltage variable frequency drives (VFDs), uninterruptable power supplies for 125VDC switchgear control systems with inverters for 208Y/120V AC three-phase systems. He has designed electrical power systems based on engineering principles in accordance with IEEE standards and National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA 70E, National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), American National Standards Institute (ANSI). He has also conducted electrical power studies for energy markets such as utilities and renewable solar PV based on IEEE standards. Mr. Gavriliuc has a B.S. in Electrical Technology, Power from the University of Houston where he graduated Cum Laude, and an M.B.A. from the University of Georgia. He is a licensed professional engineer.
Carol Ho, P.E.
Executive Director, Environmental Services
Carol Ho is an environmental engineer with over 23 years of diverse experience in evaluating all aspects of environmental requirements associated with energy projects. Carol focuses on environmental risk assessment and permitting compliance issues. Her reviews of projects include all aspects of local, state, and federal level environmental permitting and regulatory compliance.
Her work includes reviews of permit conditions and technical compliance issues at a variety of facilities, including renewable and traditional power plants, pipeline routes, and transmission projects. The investigations typically require independent research, documentation requests, and discussions with the local, state or federal agency, reviewing the applicable regulations, permit conditions, notices of violation and compliance orders. Her experience in navigating permitting requirements provides clients with valuable guidance in interpreting common regulatory issues and maintaining compliance.
Carol has a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Guelph, located in Ontario, and a M.S. Sustainability Leadership from Arizona State University. She is a registered environmental engineer in the State of Colorado.
Ajinkya Joshi
Energy Manager
Ajinkya Joshi is responsible for conducting energy resource analysis, technical equipment due diligence, energy modelling, and reviewing performance testing provision and results. He offers development support related to integrated solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects to support project financing. Before joining E3, Ajinkya was a senior analyst – energy storage where he worked on a variety of PV and battery storage projects. He has led execution of web-based energy modelling platforms for standalone as well as hybrid energy storage projects and has modelled technical, economic, and performance parameters using Python. Ajinkya has a M.S. in Energy Systems Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Mumbai.
Mike O'Dell, P.E.
Executive Director
Mike O’Dell is a seasoned power industry professional, having served in many different roles throughout his career. With E3, Mike has focused on managing and performing due diligence reviews to support the financing or acquisition of power projects. He has been involved in technical design review, operations and maintenance budget reviews, evaluation of financial models, environmental permit review, and reviewing contractual agreements such as EPC contracts, power purchase agreements, etc. As part of this experience, he has monitored construction progress, developed performance testing, reviewed protocols, and witnessed and reviewed test results. Mike’s experience includes various energy technologies, including flash and binary geothermal facilities, cogeneration and district energy facilities, solar thermal power stations, biomass generating stations, wind energy, and combustion turbine facilities.
Prior to rejoining E3 Consulting, Mike was a power plant manager and engineer, overseeing plant management, budget, and operations and performance. He also conducted independent engineering reviews for SAIC Energy, Environmental, and Infrastructure, LLC (formerly R.W. Beck) to support project financings of power projects, conducting due diligence and construction monitoring. Mike has also managed many owners’ engineering contracts, where he was responsible for scope development, bid preparation, bid evaluation, and contract negotiations. Prior experience also includes energy-related research in thermal storage and heat pump development. Mike has a master’s and a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Missouri University School of Science and Technology.
Daniel Tarico
Director, Renewables
Daniel Tarico has been working in the utility and C&I solar market for more than 15 years. Prior to entering the solar industry, he had held varied roles in technology development/industrial R&D and has nearly 25 years total experience managing, working in, and continually improving construction projects of many types.
Complimentary to his power project experience, Daniel has unique expertise in the design, manufacturing, and construction of solar trackers for utility solar power. He has worked as designer, product manager and program manager specifically with utility solar trackers. In addition to helping evaluate equipment suitability for planned projects he provides expert services for tracker design, value engineering, and failure analysis/corrective action plans.
Mr. Tarico holds an M.B.A. in Finance and International Management, an M.S. in Materials Science, and a B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Arizona. He also holds qualifications as an A (Engineering Works) and B (Commercial) general contracting licensee.
Terry Terezakis
Executive Director
Terry Terezakis has over 33 years of engineering, operations and maintenance, and project experience in the power generation industry. Terry is a graduate of the GE Field Engineering Program and supported contract steam and gas turbine outages for GE Power. Later, he managed O&M for a fleet of gas turbines, including oversight of gas turbine and electrical generator overhauls, and led Outage Management and Planning for one of the largest coal-fired power plants in the world. A subject matter expert (SME) in gas turbine performance, he co-authored the ASME PTC-22 for GT testing and contributed to the PTC-51 on inlet conditioning. Terry received his B.S. degree from The Rochester Institute of Technology.
Frances Willberg
Assistant Project Manager, Renewables
Frances Willberg is an Assistant Project Manager for E3's Solar and Storage team. Prior to this role, she was a PV Analysis Engineer with E3’s Field Engineering team. Frances graduated with a M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Arizona. As part of her program, Frances engaged in more than six years of applied research into the impact of climatological conditions on photovoltaic solar panels, particularly the degradation of panels. Outside her studies, she worked for Bay4 Energy Services where she performed independent engineering reviews to investigate causes of PV module failure; utilized PVsyst to produce PV power production reports for clients considering constructing or expanding PV power systems; investigated models used by available sources of climate data used to predict PV performance to inform PVsyst modeling; and performed PV module replacement evaluations to assist clients in selecting appropriate replacement PV modules. In addition to her M.S. in Computer and Electrical Engineering, Ms. Willberg also has a B.S. in Computer and Electrical Engineering from the University of Arizona.
