E3 Consulting Served as Independent Engineer for the Stanton Battery Energy Storage Project

E3 Consulting is proud to have served as the Independent Engineer (IE) for the groundbreaking Stanton Battery Energy Storage (SBES) project that W Power and Wellhead Electric Company developed.  The IE scope included technical and commercial due diligence and reviewing the Project’s compliance with Equator Principles 4 (EP4).

The 68.8 MW/275.2 MWh utility-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) is fully operational, provides clean power, and improves grid resiliency in the Southern California Edison Southwest LA region. SBES complements the Stanton Energy Reliability Center (SERC), a first-of-its-kind 98 MW natural gas-fired, simple-cycle facility with an integrated BESS also developed by W Power and located in Stanton, California. The SERC project began commercial operation on October 6, 2020. E3 served as the Independent Engineer for that project as well.

Ginger Elbaum, E3’s Managing Director, will participate in the groundbreaking ceremony for SBES in Stanton on December 6, 2023.  Please reach out to Ginger for any questions regarding E3’s IE services.
