E3 Consulting Services Announces New Paper on Bankable Energy Production Estimates for Utility-Scale Solar PV Projects

E3 Consulting Services is excited to announce the release of a new paper by Ajinkya Joshi, E3’s Senior Energy Manager, titled “Bankable Energy Production Estimates for Utility-Scale Solar PV Projects in the US.”

In this paper, Joshi explores the relationship between solar energy forecasting, operational performance, and financial risk, highlighting why aligning technical assumptions with financial expectations is critical throughout a solar asset’s life.

Even when a utility-scale solar project has a technically sound, bankable energy production forecast, actual operating performance may fall short of expectations. What may seem like a small production shortfall can have significant implications for revenue, debt service, and overall project economics.

This paper examines the factors that can contribute to the gap between forecasted and actual energy production and underscores the importance of developing realistic, reliable energy production estimates to support informed investment decisions and long-term project performance.
