Al Rettenmaier promoted to Managing Director
Al Rettenmaier has been promoted to Managing Director and has joined the Management Team for E3 Consulting Services (E3). Al will take on additional business development and operational duties within E3 in his new position.
Al joined E3 as an Executive Director in 2014, focusing on the oil, gas, and chemicals (OGC) business. He has expanded E3’s OGC business and provided due diligence, and independent engineer reports for many large investments and new builds.
Recently, he has expanded his focus to include green hydrogen, green ammonia, carbon capture, utilization and sequestration (CCUS), and biodegradable plastics, taking on various challenging work for E3’s clients. Al served as E3’s Project Manager for the Alberta Carbon Trunk Line (ACTL), the worlds largest CCUS project.
Before joining E3, Al had a long international career in engineering, procurement and construction (EPC). He was active in the Construction Industry Institute (CII), and the Engineering and Construction Contracting (ECC) division of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). He participated in research groups that developed EPC industry best practices and has a deep understanding of Front End Loading (FEL), EPC contracting, capital cost estimating, project schedules, and the development of large capital projects. This background has been critical in his success in helping E3’s clients bring projects across the finish line from concept to financial close to construction and commercial operation. Al has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kansas.
