E3 Consulting adds three top professionals to staff:
Additions will help firm meet growing demand and expand
renewable energy team

DENVER–E3 Consulting® LLC, a leading strategic business advisor to the energy industry, announced the firm has added three new professionals to its team of experts in energy, science and finance.

One will be based in the Denver office and two will work in the firm's New Jersey office, expanding E3's presence near the world's financial centers in New York City.

With the new hires, E3 will have added six new professionals to its staff in the past year, expanding its team of experts available to provide strategic business counsel to a wide array of clients in the energy sector.

Joining Vincent R. Tummarello at the energy consultancy's New Jersey office will be Clifford A. Herbst, PE, and John J. Bahrs. Joining the E3 team at the Denver office will be John "Jack" Coons.

HERBST HAS DECADES OF OPERATIONAL EXPERIENCE

Herbst is a registered Professional Engineer and senior executive with more than 32 years of leadership experience in generation facility project management, project engineering and general management of plant operations and maintenance. He has served as project manager on piping, mechanical and electrical systems installations for power, process, pharmaceutical and industrial customers. He has significant senior level experience in plant operations and maintenance activities including outage planning forced shutdown repairs and root cause analysis. This experience has involved all levels of team leadership including labor relations, project financial controls, site safety, and strategic planning.

BAHRS AN EXPERT IN BIOMASS RENEWABLES

Bahrs has more than 17 years of experience in electrical power generation, with expertise in asset management and project development in deregulated electricity markets. He is highly knowledgeable in the northeast, mid-Atlantic and California energy markets, structuring of electricity and natural gas supply contracts, and a variety of renewable energy technologies.

Bahrs provided his expertise in the development and construction of a $10 million, 8.5-megawatt landfill gas fired project in Johnston, RI. He also took part in the development and construction of a $3 million, 2.5-megawatt expansion to an existing 5-megawatt landfill gas fired generating plant located in southern California, and directed the rehabilitation and start-up of a 26-megawatt biomass fired facility in central Maine.

COONS EXPERT IN BIODIESEL, ETHANOL

Coons has more than 30 years of diversified industrial management experience in project development, business development, marketing, sales, engineering, project management and construction. He has extensive experience in the marketing and commercialization of new technologies for a broad range of industrial markets, and his project experience includes domestic and foreign capital projects ranging up to more than $130 million.

As an energy consulting business owner and executive with other industry-leading firms prior to that, he was responsible for the development of ethanol and biodiesel energy projects including evaluation of project opportunities, partnering agreements, development of financial proformas, organization of financing, negotiation of feed, product and utility agreements, technology selection and project scope definition. He also has senior executive leadership experience in the development of ethanol production facilities.
